  1. Hello there. I am new here in Scotland. Female. I’m a Filipina, from Philippines. I currently live here in Edinburgh and I’m a student. I got the flyer about this island and I’m sooo intersted to know not just the place itself but the happenings as well. How do I become a volunteer? I know I have a purpose here on earth. I mean, I want to do something that would be really worthwhile, something that I can really be proud of and that I can treasure forever. Not just to go out, drink, and have fun as normal adults in my same age. I am so willing to join the group, if there is. I’m so interested to be a volunteer. I hope to hear from you. Thank you so much!

    • Hello Kim,

You are welcome to visit as a guest volunteer anytime during our season (end March – end October). This is an arrangement by which we offer a 25% reduced rate in return for 3 hours per day working. Reduced costs are £33 per night for a single room, £24 per person sharing in a twin and £18 for a dorm space, including full vegetarian board. We hope that volunteer guests will be flexible in terms of which area they work in – e.g. kitchen, garden, housekeeping, environment, admin task – but we won’t make you work in an area you really don’t like. If you’d like to book in as a guest volunteer, you can fill in the attached booking form and post or email it back to us along with your £20 deposit. Alternatively, you can call us and we’ll take your booking over the phone.

If you are considering longer-term volunteering on Holy Isle, you need to do a two-week trial, for which we charge £15 per day to cover our costs and, assuming everything goes well, you will then be on our books as and when opportunities arise. I attach more information about longer term volunteering.

      Best wishes,

      Adam
